Please note that the minutes of the meeting will not be formally passed until the next meeting - what follows is a summary of discussion at the Parents Association Meeting February 7th 2011.
Mrs Fahy said that the Second Hand Book Fair was a great success both in terms of the money raised for the Children First charity www.childrenfirst.ie (€776) and the bargains the children went home with. She thanked all the parents for the great quality of books donated. Maria Callanan also thanked the parents and the school on behalf of the charity.
There has been a good response to the Family Contribution letter. The Board of Management thanked the Parents Association for the new chairs and the visualisers which have been purchased recently.
Mrs Fahy said the school was delighted with the Junior Infants garden. The children will begin planting in the coming weeks. Matt Rudden was thanked especially for his contribution. Work is to commence at the end of March on the Summer Classroom/Wildflower Garden.
Following complaints from parents regarding the quality of the tracksuits and polo shirts, Mrs Fahy is to speak to Grants (the retailers)
