Board Of Management
New Parent reps for the Board of Management were elected at the AGM on 13th October to fill the positions left when the mother and father rep both resigned their positions in September. (The current Board term expires in 2015 when a new board will be formed)

General Items
  • A standardised letter from each class teacher to Parents will issue in the first week of November. This will outline expectations for the year in terms of learning, support around homework, information re projects etc.  They may also include different websites/links which parents and children may find helpful.
  • The Anti bullying Policy has been reviewed by the Board of Management.The final draft will be issued by the Board of Management shortly and reviewed by a working group of interested parents.(If you are interested in joining this group let us know)
  • Another working group has been established by the Board of Management to review the School Buildings. We will send out more information on this group once we have it
  • Basketball in the morning for senior classes will be starting soon with Ms. O’Connor
  • Keep fit is running successfully at 8.30am every Wednesday morning.
  • Parent Teacher meetings will be scheduled around the 19th November
  • We are trying to gauge interest in running another NPC Parenting Courses. These courses were well attended last year and found to be very beneficial. Let us know if this is something you would be interested in
  • The new committee will agree on their list of events for this year. As part of this process we will need to work with Mrs. Fahy with regard to the Family contribution. This is currently collected by the Parents Association and used to supplement equipment and materials for the school as well as the social and fun events.  We are waiting for feedback from the Board of Management with regard to how the new contribution will work and how much it will increase by.
  • The school is organising a fundraiser where the children will design Christmas Cards that can be purchased by parents.  Mrs.Fahy will send out more information in conjunction with the class teachers.
  • Thanks to everyone who attended the coffee morning and Cake sale on Friday 24th October. We raised over €600. We will let you knwo waht the donations will be used for. 
  • The committee would like to extend their condolences to the Cluny community on the passing of Sr. Maura who was a member of staff in Scoil Mhuire from 1955-1985. A mass card will be sent from the committee
  • First Holy Communion will take place on 9th May 2015. No date for Confirmation yet.
  • Discussion started around the Christmas raffle and the possibility of looking for prizes at this early stage. We would require 3 prizes per class – all age appropriate. The Committee will be looking to businesses/parents/shops for donations of age-appropriate prizes for each class
  • A provisional date of December 16th/17th was agreed for the Santa/raffle day.
 Car Park
•         Parents were advised to lock their cars and not to leave handbags/valuables in sight as a handbag had been stolen recently at the 2pm pick up.
•         Concerns have been raised at the speed of some cars entering and leaving the car park. Please make sure you adhere to the 5 mph speed limit in operation in the car park. Repeated offenders will be identified and will be refused entry to the car park if they are observed speeding.
 •         School website is expected to launch soon. We’ll update you when we know more
